Trusted technology advisor

A senior technology executive on call for your business, without hiring one. For owners and managers who make real technology decisions — a renewal, an insurer’s questionnaire, a vendor’s pitch, a new hire’s laptop — and want someone who has done this before on the other end of the line.

What you get

Not a help desk and not a retainer of hours. A standing relationship with someone who knows your business and answers the question in front of you.

Decisions, not research

Lease or buy. This vendor or that one. Is the quote fair, is the risk real, is the upgrade worth it. You get an answer and the reasoning, in plain language, before the deadline.

A regular check-in

A standing review of what changed, what’s coming up — renewals, hires, moves — and what to budget for. We set the cadence together on the discovery call.

Someone to call

When the insurer sends the security questionnaire, when a client asks how you protect their files, when something breaks and the provider is vague. One call, a straight answer.

Your provider, kept honest

We read proposals, renewals and invoices with you and say what’s reasonable. We work alongside your current IT provider, not against them, and we’re clear about who owns what.

A roadmap you own

One page, kept current — what to fix, what to buy, what to leave alone, in what order. Yours to act on with us or with anyone else.

A head start on what’s next

When a decision becomes a project — a migration, a Mac rollout, an AI pilot — you already have someone who knows your people, your tools and your budget.

How it works

  1. Start with a discovery call

Fifteen minutes on what you run, who looks after it today and what’s been nagging you. We’ll say whether the advisor relationship fits, or whether a one-hour Technology Review is the better first step.

  2. Set the baseline

A short review of your devices, accounts, apps, security and contracts. You get a written picture of where you stand and the first roadmap.

  3. Work the relationship

Regular check-ins, questions as they come up, the roadmap kept current. You bring the decisions; we bring the experience and the context.

  4. Grow into what’s next

When the business is ready for a deployment, a migration or a pilot, we scope it with you — and you keep the advisor you already trust.

Who it’s for
  • Owner-led businesses where technology decisions land on the owner’s desk.
  • Managers who inherited “the IT” along with everything else.
  • Businesses with a managed service provider and nobody to oversee it.
  • Companies that have outgrown a one-hour review but don’t need a project yet.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as a fractional CIO?
No. Our fractional CIO program is built for mid-size organizations with IT staff, a budget line and a board to report to. The trusted technology advisor is the owner-sized version — the same experience, applied to the decisions a growing business actually faces.
Do we have to leave our current IT provider?
No. Most clients keep their provider for day-to-day support. We oversee, translate and negotiate on your side, and we’re clear with everyone about who owns what.
Should we start with a Technology Review instead?
If one decision is urgent, yes — book the one-hour review on that topic. If the questions keep coming, the advisor relationship is the better fit. The discovery call will tell you which.
How often do we talk?
As often as the business needs. We set a cadence on the discovery call and adjust it; questions between check-ins are part of the relationship, not an extra.
Do you sell us hardware and licences?
We can supply Mac computers and AppleCare as an Apple Authorized Reseller and Microsoft licences as a Cloud Solution Provider, and we’ll tell you when you’re better served buying elsewhere. Our advice doesn’t depend on what you buy.

Want someone in your corner before the next decision?

Book a 15-minute discovery call. Tell us what’s on the desk right now; we’ll say whether the advisor relationship, a one-hour review or nothing yet is the right first step.
